Modern School LED Sign Upgrade for Hay Park School
We have recently completed a major School LED Sign upgrade for Hay Park School, delivering a modern Digital LED Sign solution designed to enhance communication, visibility, and community engagement.
The school’s previous Digital LED Sign, originally installed by WiPath more than 10 years ago, served the school exceptionally well and became an important communication tool for students, parents, staff, and visitors. Over time, natural weather exposure and rapid advancements in Digital Signage technology made it increasingly difficult to display modern high-definition content and achieve the visual performance expected from today’s School Digital Signage systems.
To support the school’s future communication requirements, WiPath installed a new high-resolution 3.91mm Digital LED Sign featuring the latest School Digital Signage technology. The upgraded Outdoor LED Display provides improved image quality, enhanced reliability, cloud-based content management, and a modern platform capable of serving Hay Park School for many years to come.

Smart Upgrade Strategy
One of the key objectives of this project was to provide a cost-effective upgrade while maintaining high quality and long-term reliability.
Since the existing foundation and steel support posts remained in excellent condition, WiPath was able to reuse the original infrastructure rather than replacing it.
This approach delivered several benefits:
- Reduced project costs
- Faster project completion
- Minimal disruption to school operations
- Sustainable use of existing assets
As the existing support structure had originally been designed for a portrait-oriented LED display, additional engineering and fabrication work was required.
WiPath custom-fabricated a new steel mounting structure that allowed the new landscape-oriented LED display to be securely installed on the existing steel posts.
Manufacturing and Fabrication
The entire project was manufactured and assembled at WiPath’s Auckland facility. The fabrication process included:
- Manufacturing of the new LED display system
- Construction of custom mounting structures
- Static header sign production
- Rear branding panel fabrication
- System testing and quality assurance
The complete project was delivered from manufacturing through to installation within approximately 4–5 weeks.
Installation Process
Because the existing foundations and support posts were retained, no additional ground works or underground service investigations were required.
Installation day was completed efficiently and safely using a Hiab crane.

The entire installation process was completed within approximately 4–5 hours, minimising disruption to the school’s daily activities.
Network and Cloud Connectivity
The sign location was outside the coverage area of the school’s existing WiFi network.
To provide reliable communication between the school and the LED display, WiPath installed a Point-to-Point Wireless Network solution.

The LED display was then integrated into WiPath’s cloud-based Digital Signage platform, allowing remote management and monitoring.

The existing power connection was retained, helping reduce project costs and streamline the installation process.
