Double-Sided Digital LED Sign Installation for Pacific Advance Secondary School
WiPath is proud to have completed the design, assembly, and installation of a new double-sided Digital LED Sign at Pacific Advance Secondary School in Otahuhu, Auckland. This high-resolution outdoor LED display was installed to provide an effective communication platform for students, parents, staff, and the wider community.
The project involved the complete supply, assembly, transportation, installation, and commissioning of the LED sign, including the supporting steel structure, foundations, network connectivity, and cloud-based content management system.

Engineering and Foundation Works
Prior to installation, WiPath conducted detailed site planning to ensure a safe and reliable foundation system.
A comprehensive underground services assessment was completed before any ground works commenced. This process included sub-surface detection to identify and avoid potential underground infrastructure such as:
- Water pipelines
- Electrical services
- Fibre optic cables
- Communication services
- Other underground utilities
Once the site was cleared for installation, heavy-duty hot-dip galvanised ground screws were installed.

Heavy-duty hot-dip galvanised ground screws were used to create a robust and durable foundation system, providing long-term structural support for the LED sign installation.
Manufacturing and Assembly
The entire steel structure and LED sign assembly were completed at WiPath’s warehouse in Manukau, Auckland.
Our team assembled and tested the complete signage system before transportation to ensure all components were functioning correctly and met quality standards.
This pre-assembly process allowed for faster installation on site while minimising disruption to school operations.
Installation Process
Following successful pre-assembly, the digital LED sign was transported to Pacific Advance Secondary School for installation.
Due to the size and weight of the structure, a mini crane was used to safely position the steel posts and LED display.
Installation Highlights
- Steel posts lifted individually using a mini crane
- Posts secured to the pre-installed ground screw foundations
- Structural connections completed using heavy-duty steel bolts and fasteners
- Double-sided LED display lifted and positioned between the support posts
- LED display secured using engineered 10mm fixing hardware
- Final alignment and commissioning completed on site
The installation was completed with careful attention to safety, structural integrity, and long-term reliability.
Electrical and Network Connectivity
A dedicated 220V power supply was installed and connected by a qualified third-party electrical contractor.
To ensure reliable communications between the school’s network and the LED display, WiPath implemented a Point-to-Point Wireless Network solution.
